As many of you may know, Disenchanted, the sequel to Disney’s Enchanted (2007) is set to be released in two weeks. It is a sequel that we have been waiting 15 years to see, and most of the cast is returning, including Amy Adams, James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey and Idina Menzel. Unfortunately, Disney has decided to release the movie on their streaming service, rather than give it a theatrical release.
I would very much like to see this movie released in the theaters. First of all COVID is nearly over, at least at the time of this article. Many people are seeing movies in the theaters again. Movies do not need to be released on streaming services as much as they have been over the past few years. I think it’s time for new releases to be in the theaters again.
Secondly, I want this franchise to have more installments. Not just this one, but also a third movie. I don’t think the movie can make enough money streaming to convince the Disney executives to make a third movie. If it’s released theatrically, I think it has a better chance of making lots of money. This will help its chances of getting another sequel. Of course, this would mean that Strange World, another Disney release, would have to be pushed back until March. But I think that would be ok because this way both movies would get to be in the theaters.
If anyone involved with the movie is reading this, please consider this option.
